Cantonment Board Public School, Sonwar, Srinagar, celebrated the International Day of Yoga on 25th June 2026 with great enthusiasm and active participation from students, teachers, and staff members. The programme was organized with the objective of promoting physical fitness, mental well-being, and the importance of adopting a healthy lifestyle through the ancient practice of yoga.

The celebration commenced with a brief introduction highlighting the significance of yoga in achieving harmony between the mind, body, and soul. Under the guidance of trained instructors, participants performed a series of yoga asanas, stretching exercises, breathing techniques (Pranayama), and meditation. Students demonstrated remarkable discipline, enthusiasm, and confidence while performing various postures, reflecting their understanding of the importance of regular yoga practice.

The event carried the inspiring theme “Yoga for Healthy Ageing,” encouraging everyone to embrace yoga as a lifelong practice for maintaining physical strength, emotional balance, and overall wellness. The programme also emphasized values such as self-discipline, concentration, mindfulness, and inner peace.
